Stockton girl home safely
STOCKTON - A 12-year-old girl who ran away from home after a fight with her mother returned safely on her own accord Sunday, seven days after going missing, police said.
Pebbles Singkeo appears to have remained in Stockton during her disappearance, but she declined to tell officers where she went, Lt. Chuck Flescher of the Stockton Police Department said.
"We're happy, regardless of why she left," Flescher said. "She's safe and looks healthy."
She left home, in the 700 block of East Hazelton Avenue, on Dec. 11, after she and her mother had argued over a cellphone.
Subsequent calls to the girl's phone went unanswered, striking fears for the worst.
Police considered her at risk because of her young age and build. In the search, police entered her description into a national database for missing children.
Her mother, Cynthia Singkeo, had made a public plea for her daughter's return.
