The girls, all fourth graders at Linton-Stockton Elementary School, donned elves caps for the occasion along with their traditional green Girl Scout vests.
"A big thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Claus," said pastor Michael Roth as the couple departed. "Say hello to Rudolph for us."
All told, volunteers estimated 700 partook of turkey and all the trimmings.
The non-denominational event, organized by the Linton Rotary Club with volunteer help, took place at the Saron United Church of Christ's Fellowship Hall, 440 First St. NE.
"It was wonderful," said Ralph Witty, a member of the Linton Rotary Club who helped dish out mashed potatoes and dressing over the evening's two-hour meal.
"It's hard to say how many we had, because we had so many people do take-out dinners that you can lose track," he said. "Everyone had fun doing it, and there was great participation this year. So 700 people sounds about right."
Down the line, his fellow Rotarian Tom Fisher was dishing out sliced turkey
