Former Venice YMCA employee sentenced

A judge ordered Dan Quail, 34, to be imprisoned for 202 months followed by 25 years on supervised release, according to court records filed last week in the U.S. District Court in Tennessee.
Quail will also be required to live in a halfway house for three years after prison.
Authorities found more than 5,000 images and 500 videos of child pornography in Quail's Tennessee home nearly two years ago.
He had moved to Tennessee in 2009 to work at the Sumner County YMCA after running youth sports and after-school programs at the Venice YMCA from 1998 to 2008.
The videos and photos showed prepubescent children in sexual situations, including bondage and bestiality, according to court records.
Quail's pornography was discovered after a complaint from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement that he exchanged explicit pictures with a man in Toronto.
He initially pleaded not guilty and was held in a Tennessee jail.
Local investigators determined no Southwest Florida children were pictured in the pornographic images, nor was there any evidence that Quail abused any local children.
