Felice "Phil" Belloni
Felice "Phil" Belloni was born in Pittsburg, CA on November 5, 1917 to Carlos and Louisa Belloni.
As a teenager he sold newspapers on the corner from the Pittsburg Steel Mill. One day a man from the Steel Mill
asked him if he wanted a job at the Mill. He said yes because the money was much better than he was making selling newspapers and he worked there until WWII started. On December 7, 1941 he joined the
Merchant Marines and served proudly until the war ended. After coming home he met his wife of 50 years, Jean, at a big band dance in Stockton. He loved to dance and was very good at it. He continued to enjoy the big band dances when he could, even as a senior citizen. He worked and supported his family as a painter, wallpaper hanger and dry wall finisher until his retirement at age 65. Phil and Jean enjoyed bowling for many years at both West Lane and Pacific Ave Bowl. This continued for both of them even after retirement. They enjoyed the many friends they made in the "Senior League". During his wife's long illness he became a self-taught woodworker making toys and various other items for his grandchildren, family and friends. He was the best grandpa to all of his grandchildren and taught them many things.
