Stockton Thunder's Olivier Roy is ECHL Goaltender of the Week
In the wake of back-to-back victories to begin a stretch of five consecutive games away from home, Stockton Thunder goalie Olivier Roy has been recognized as the ECHL Goaltender of the Week for the time period of Jan. 2-8.
The selection, which was announced Tuesday (Jan. 10), marks the second such honor for Roy, who was presented with the same award on Nov. 22.
Roy, 20, was stellar in leading the Thunder to a pair of victories over the Bakersfield Condors at the end of last week. First, he stopped 29 shots and made the most of a single Stockton goal in earning a 1-0 decision last Friday (Jan. 6). The following night, he recorded 35 saves and was perfect in a shootout in beating the Condors 3-2.
"Obviously, he was good and his numbers reflected that," Thunder Coach Matt Thomas told local media in Stockton after Roy was named the award winner. "It's always good when you're getting individual accomplishments. But more importantly, when your team is doing well . . . you need certain guys stepping up and having these individual awards, and Olivier is certainly deserving."

But it does offer books for every stage of child development and learning. Good stuff for reinforcing school curricula at home. Next, Friends of the Stockton Public Library. This Hammer Lane nonprofit was closed for restocking or something.
