Sheriff's OfficeThere were 55 bookings at the San Joaquin County Jail in the 24 hours ending at 8 a.m. Friday. At that time, there were 1,175 people held at the jail, which has an official capacity of 1,411.
Weapon arrest: Paul David Basconcillo, a 29-year-old parolee, was arrested at noon Friday on suspicion of altering a replica gun to look like a real weapon, deputies reported. Basconcillo was riding in the front passenger seat of a car deputies pulled over near Sanguinetti Lane and Alpine Avenue. Deputies found the fake gun under a seat, which they said was within Basconcillo's reach. Deputies described the gun as having a wooden handle with double barrels, double hammers and colored with black tape.
Stockton PolicePurse snatching: A 61-year-old woman had her purse snatched from her at 8 p.m. Thursday in front of her home, in the 1800 block of Alston Way, police said. The woman told police she was getting out of her car when the robber grabbed her black leather clutch purse, which contained a cellphone and credit cards.
