STOCKTON - Stockton Unified administrators are completing a lengthy revamping of the school district's instructional systems, a project they predict will increase the pace of student achievement and accelerate the growth of test scores.
Officials say the undertaking will establish consistent educational practices at the district's 55 campuses, providing teachers with a systematic approach for addressing the needs of Stockton Unified's many struggling students.
The district's "Blueprint for Student Achievement" was presented publicly at a special school board meeting Tuesday night.
"This is a guide for us to follow," Superintendent Carl Toliver said. "This is the instrument that will help elevate student achievement throughout the district. We feel we can guarantee a lot more success than ever before."
Assistant Superintendent Kirk Nicholas called the blueprint an "executive summary" of Stockton Unified's new Local Educational Agency plan, which the district is required to submit to the California Department of Education by the end of the school year.
