SPOKANE, Wash. -- Michigan State had the perfect answer for its first difficult game in a true road environment: The Spartans went to their star.Draymond Green had the best offensive game of his brilliant college career Saturday night, scoring a career-high 34 points as the Spartans upset No. 23 Gonzaga, 74-67, for their eighth consecutive win.
"Overall game, I've done more, but I got everybody involved tonight," Green said. "But I think I did a great job of leading. So I think it was my best scoring game and my best game where I just led everybody."
Green was heavily involved in scoring flurries. He also stopped a key scoring flurry when Gonzaga threatened to get back in the game late.
Green scored in the post. He scored from the perimeter, including a career-high four 3-pointers. And combined with an exceptional performance by the Spartans' two centers, Derrick Nix and Adreian Payne, it all added up to a winning formula.
