Shakamak falls at home against No. 4 Arrows
Shakamak finally found the range during a three-minute span in the fourth. Jazmine Martin, who led the Lady Lakers with 15 points, made three consecutive shots, including a pair of 3-pointers, during a Laker comeback.Jade Gambill knocked down a trey of her own with 88 seconds to play, cutting the deficit to 40-34.
Megan Phipps swished a corner jumper just inside the 3-point line as the Lakers made 5 of 8 shots during the three-minute span. But Sullivan made nine free throws in the final eight minutes, including five in the final 62 seconds to earn its eighth victory in nine games.
"I don't think I could be happier with our effort," said Shakamak coach Troy Fougerousse. "I know they keep score to determine who wins and loses.
"But I think that we outhustled them tonight."
The Lady Lakers had just 11 turnovers, four less than the Lady Arrows. They also outrebounded a taller Sullivan squad 32-24, led by center Kelsey Pilant (seven rebounds, three blocks and two points).
