TV anchor to talk about whales book

Teachers College of San Joaquin will present "A Conversation with Stefanie Cruz," featuring the Fox-40 news anchor and producer who is also a children's book author.

The event is at 5:30 p.m. today at Burwood Auditorium in the Wentworth Education Center, San Joaquin County Office of Education, 2707 Transworld Drive, Stockton.

The public is invited. Doors open at 5 p.m. and seating is limited.

Cruz will talk about her career as a journalist as well as experiences related to the world of education. She will also talk about her children's book "Delta and Dawn: Mother and Baby Whales' Journey," which is based on the two whales that traveled up the Sacramento Delta before returning to the Pacific Ocean in 2007.

They made their home in Wahoo, Nebraska. Cecile taught Sunday School for 25 years at United Methodist Church in Wahoo, NE. They enjoyed trips with nieces and nephews. Leigh passed away in 1977. Cecile moved to Stockton, CA in 1980 to be near family.
