Biz Beat: Latino grocery replacing a Raley's in Ceres
19.05.12
The Raley's on Hatch, which opened in 1999, closed in September because of slow sales.
No opening date is set for Rancho San Miguel, but the company will begin hiring soon. Bilingual applicants are encouraged; the store caters to a largely Spanish-speaking clientele.
A job fair is planned for Feb. 3 and 4, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, at the Ceres Community Center, 2701 Fourth St.
PAQ Foods also operates Food 4 Less stores in Ceres, Manteca, Los Banos, Salinas, Atascadero, San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles.
Last week, Raley's announced it will close the Raley's in Modesto's Century Center at Oakdale Road and Orangeburg Avenue. That store has 76 employees. The Hatch Road location had 58.

Elsewhere around the Business Beat:
The V Restaurant & Bar inside Murphys' Victoria Inn has opened the offshoot V Bistro and Bar, a European-style bar and eatery.
The small bistro and bar is also inside the inn but offers smaller plates, house-made pastries, specialty coffees and a full bar to patrons every day of the week. Owners Michael and Melissa Ninos said they wanted to create a more casual space for guests than its fine-dining restaurant. The full restaurant has been open for six years. The bistro opened at the beginning of December.
