Man leads officers on 45-mile chase
SAN ANDREAS - A Stockton man pulled over in San Andreas early Saturday led law officers on a 45-mile high-speed chase that ended on Waterloo Road in Stockton.
The Calaveras County Sheriff's Department reported that members of the Department's Special Enforcement Team and other deputies stopped a car driven by Jeremy Jones, 29, of Stockton, at 12:06 a.m. Saturday near the Gold Strike Village mobile home park on Gold Strike Road in San Andreas.
Deputies found that Jones had a felony warrant for his arrest.
Deputies said that as they were speaking with him, Jones became uncooperative and then fled in his vehicle, and deputies pursued, following him at speeds up to 80 mph down Highway 12 to Valley Springs.
In Valley Springs, the California Highway Patrol used a spike strip to deflate the tires of Jones' car. The pursuit continued west at about 50 mph to Clements, where the CHP took over.
