UMSL Men's Basketball Returns to the Court Friday at Home
UMSL’s top four scorers are all first-year players for the Tritons, but have significant court experience on their resumes. Senior Troy Long leads the team with 15.6 points per game and has a team-best 26 three-pointers. Long came to UMSL following one season at SIU-Carbondale and two years at Southeastern Illinois CC, where he was an all-conference and all-region performer.Junior Joshua McCoy adds 14.3 points per game and also tops the squad with 3.0 assists and 2.4 steals per game. McCoy is a transfer from Cleveland State University, where he averaged 4.4 points and 2.5 rebounds per game and also recorded 26 assists and 17 steals, while shooting 40.8 percent from the field, including 36.3 percent from three-point range.
Junior Isiah Nunn follows with 11.6 points and is shooting 54.5 percent from the field. Nunn previously played two seasons at Southwestern Illinois CC, averaging 4.9 points and 2.6 rebounds per game.
Junior Charlie Woods averages 9.9 points per game and leads the squad with 5.7 rebounds per game. He also transferred from Cleveland State, where he averaged 2.6 points and 2.5 points per game and led team in blocks (29) last season.
