This time Thunder pays price for breakdowns

STOCKTON - The Thunder didn't get away with giving up six goals this time.
With no record-scoring outburst to fall back on, Stockton crumbled Friday and lost 6-2 to the Idaho Steelheads at Stockton Arena as 3,746 saw the team lose for the fifth time in its past seven home games.
Coach Matt Thomas said the players are working hard but not converting on scoring chances like they did in a 9-6 victory over Bakersfield last week.
"We didn't get the results we should have tonight," Thomas said. "I sound like a broken record, but we're frustrated that we're not getting the results at home. The guys want to win for the fans."
Idaho (10-12-3) capitalized on its scoring chances, getting five goals in its first 23 shots, while the Thunder (12-10-3) managed one on its first 33 opportunities.
"You don't want to go through this, but it will make us stronger," Thomas said. "It's something you have to learn from."
